Kinja'd!!!

I am close to my data limit. On Monday, my data limit will reset. All I want Verizon to do is cut off my data when I reach my limit. I don't want any extra data.

There solution: pay $5 a month more for them to help me place some data limiter on my phones.

The whole point is to pay less not spend more money. I know there goal is to get me to spend more money, but i already pay enough for my 4 gigs of data. just cut me off when i get there.

end rant.

for you making it though - an indy car

android or iphone?

use a data managing app..i have 2 on my phone - one is AVG mobile, has a data tracker and will cut you off whenever you ask it to, other one is a andriod software that came with the phone.

What phone do you have? Android, IOS and Windows Phones have limiters built into the software that you can turn on so you don't go over your data limit.

Also, yes, Verizon is terrible. I suggest moving to T-Mobile if your area has good enough coverage (most do now), because its much cheaper and not nearly as predatory as ATT and VZW.

Brags about unlimited data plan Sprint has. I have unlimited everything except minutes, which my family has 3,000 to share 4-ways.

I too, have Verizon, and before I got better/more reliable Wi-Fi at my house, I was heavily reliant on the LTE network. I never went over my limit, however every month I got very close. What really pissed me off, despite how I was PAYING for a certain amount of data per month, they throttled my data constantly.

Really frustrating stuff, but I stay off of LTE most of the time now, so it's not so much of a problem.

I am still on unlimited data with them but about 2 times a month they keep swinging something at me to try and get me to go to structured data plan. Faaaaaaak youuuuuuuuuu Verizon.

Android has an OS function to cut mobile data when you hit a limit.

But think about it this way, how else can Verizon get you to pay more crap fees?

Does your phone have a limiter built in? You should be able to set it to turn off data in the meantime.

I have unlimited data, but if I want to remain grandfathered in, I can't renew my Verizon contract, which means I can't get a new phone for cheap through them. You can tier my data when you pry it from my cold dead phone, Verizon!

Depending on your phone, you should be able to turn off cellular data to keep you from going over. I know you can do it on the iPhone but I haven't messed with any Androids.

I've got alerts on my phone that tell me when I've used X amount of data. When I reach the cap you can go into settings and disable the data connection without any hassle.

If you have a relatively new Android phone, you can make the phone cut off data use at a certain point. When I worked for AT&T and had Android work phones, I would set the data limit within the phone at my exact usage limit.

What are you paying for those 4 lines?

And there's a lot of things to hate about Verizon, but there's one certainty about why I'm still with Verizon. Nobody's coverage can compete with Verizon.

Unlimited everything, $80/mo, haven't been on a family plan since I turned 18. Woo!

I'd have to check the bill when I get home, but I think it's right around $200.

Sprints coverage can be iffy in some places, but I generally have a good service.

do they pull the same crap on you too?

V- Oh look at this new tablet, now if you get this you can add it and split up your allotted data between the 2! And its FREE!

Me- Um ok you want to split up unlimited, SWEET

V- Oh actually, you have to go to our 5G plan, but its the same exact price!

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I have verizon, and I just have my phone cut me off when I get close to the limit. Android lets you set a warning, and a cutoff at whatever amounts of data usage you want.

I don't have to pay my phone bill! At least until I get a job.. Are you really only playing $80? I expected it to be more with a single person.

T-Mobile isn't reliable around here otherwise I'd probably use them. They literally have a dead zone of about 4 blocks and my in-law's house is in the middle of it. Since my wife is over there once a week that's an absolute no go for us. Then it comes down to the fact that Sprint may have unlimited data, but I've got 2 lines for $120 and 3GB and the Verizon network. Sure I'd use more data if I had it, but I don't need to watch Netflix at my desk.

Heh, dad said he wouldn't pay for data on our plan, so I got my own... It was $100 at the time through Verizon, and I got a 21% discount through work. I'm assuming it'd be a lot higher nowadays even for tiered plans.

Is she fucking retarded? By turning off your data, you are turning your phones data usage.

http://support.bell.ca/Mobility/Smart…

Also if the coverage allows it, move to T-Mobile. I pay $89 and I get unlimited data (literally unlimited), unlimited calling and text messaging (both international and US). It was awesome using it in Italy and not having to worry about anything. Only thing I did pay for was making calls to the US from Italy.

Yeah, there have got to be so few people still on unlimited, because Verizon is quite crafty at luring or tricking people away from it. Anyways, so few people that it's gotta be low on their priority list to get us off.

I've never run into Verizon throttling me, my average month is about 4gb, but I have hit 30gb's.

Yeah, my average is 4-6 a month. It's really annoying when you have almost full signal, but it takes forever to load one page.

In heavily populated areas or during events this can happen.

eh, I wouldn't say I live in a really high population area, and there's not events around here that'd effect it like that, I don't think. I dunno for sure, though.
